Nursing School

Well, the semester has been grueling, long, and hard... but it is finally coming to an end! I have learned a lot in my clinical this semester. We were in the ICU first for 7 weeks at USC University Hospital and it was definitely challenging but I learned a lot. Next we were placed with a preceptor at the same hospital and we were to schedule seven 12 hour shifts with them. Let me tell you, if you have never done a 12 hr it is something else. I am still amazed that I have done 5 of them already! I am in a pre-op and post-op unit and my favorite part is getting to start IVs on every patient who comes in!
I still don't know exactly where Im going to work or in what unit. Sometimes it frustrates me that I dont have it all decided and picked out...but I guess not having one unit that I want to work in makes me flexible. We will see....
On Thursday all of the students in my class were split into groups of 5 and we had to do a big presentation on a topic. We invited friends and family and made a night of it. I was so glad to have it over with as I don't love preparing speeches...but it went well and its nice to have it behind us!
This picture is of my clinical group from this semester. The lady in purple on the left is my professor:) We went to a really fun restaurant to celebrate being finished with the ICU portion of the semester.
